What is it and what does it do?
Imagine you’re making a layered pastry, like a croissant. You need to repeatedly fold and layer the dough to create those delicate, flaky layers. A clamping lapper does something similar with a web of fibers in non-woven manufacturing.

How is it done?

- Delivery: The layered web is delivered out of the machine, ready for the next step in the non-woven process.
Use in the Non-Woven Sector
Clamping lappers are used in non-woven manufacturing when you need:
- Specific Web Structure: They create a layered web with a particular fold pattern, which can affect the final properties of the non-woven fabric (like its strength and how it drapes).
- Thickening the Web: By repeatedly folding the web, they increase its thickness and weight.
- Preparing for Bonding: The layered web created by a clamping lapper is often an intermediate step before the non-woven material is bonded together using techniques like needle punching, thermal bonding, or chemical bonding.
